Personal Philosophy

I believe people have an inborn drive for growth, emotional healing and health. Just as the body can heal a broken bone, the mind can heal too. I believe happiness, joy, and love are what we most desire to be fully human. I believe these states are brain-based and can be learned.

I believe such personal growth is most effectively done in community: in a warm, supportive, and safe environment. I believe we evolved as social beings dependent on one another for survival, and that a need for social connection is hardwired in our brains. Such connection to others is often key to our growth.
